Elektra is a sculptural awning that illuminates and activates the entrance of CounterPulse through a woven structure of steel and light. Elektra animates the street, creating varied patterns of light and shadow and bringing people together in a way that is essential to any community.

Elektra references Greek mythology; nymphs of electrified storm clouds and amber electrified formations in the sky above. Constructed out of stainless steel and integrated LEDs, the two materials intertwine to create an illuminated sculptural awning that marks the entrance to CounterPulse’s performance space. Elektra also creates a powerful backdrop for the performances that CounterPulse stages on the sidewalk during their regular BlockFest events.
