Harmony House is located in Twentynine Palms, California. The house is nestled into a desert plateau at the end of Via Allegra just down the road from the Harmony Motel. The ground floor “dugout” is 3d printed in-situ construction, while the second-floor, roof and trusses are pre-fabricated steel, glass and fabric. This dwelling is a prototype for desert living where extreme temperatures might fluctuate from 15 degrees in the winter to over 125 degrees in the summer. It is tuned to the more predictable solar and wind conditions of its site, while also protecting from occasional sandstorms. It is calibrated to collect dew and rain water when available, while also collecting solar energy with its unique dragon skin roof tiles.
